Working Hard on our Takedowns

Having the ability to take someone down is fundamental to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu – that’s why we have started incorporating our takedown practice into every training session. Rather than working on dozens of takedowns that are very sport focused – we keep it simple, believing that a couple of solid takedowns with some follow-ups if the first attempt fails, is the key to success.

Clearing the lead arm and level dropping – everyone on the team is making progress down to sheer repetition and commitment to just a few techniques.

Beginners very welcome to join us – you don’t need to be fit, you don’t need any previous experience – you just need a desire to change-up your lifestyle and the rest will follow. Most that join our team have no previous experience and are looking for an activity to get their general fitness back on track. Tread the path with us, make friends and reap the benefits of the Jiu-Jitsu lifestyle. Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays – train as much or as little as you want to. Aiming for two training sessions a week is an extremely good frequency – you’ll make progress and you won’t run the risk of doing too much too soon.
