Gi and No-Gi Training

All of the Gracie Jiu Jitsu self defence techniques we teach can be performed with or without the Gi.

Training without the Gi brings speed and nothing for someone defending to hold onto. The Gi provides friction making it more difficult to escape and demands that your technique for escaping is really sharp. The Gi also teaches you to apply your grips to make your opponent’s efforts less effective – you learn to break someone’s grips off you, too.

Come and join us and become part of our group, dedicated to learning and practicing Jiu Jitsu with lessons on Mondays and Wednesdays – taking place 7-8.15pm and 8.45-10pm.
