Bulgarian Flag

Lyubo trained extensively at the top sports school in Sofia, Bulgaria and went on to win four national titles as a cadet and junior. He won a full sports scholarship to go to Colby College in the United States where he competed regularly at a high level. Lyubo arrived in the UK in 2009 and has become a close friend.

A formidable athlete and wrestler, he has an extensive knowledge of single leg and double leg take downs and also exceptional leg defense. I have had the privilege of being taught several single leg set ups by Lyubo and look forward to many more years of training with him both independently and through his involvement with BJJ Lifestyle Team.

Lyubo is passionate about freestyle wrestling and his enthusiasm for the technical details make his classes extremely interesting. At 75 kilos, he often proves that technique and the application of technical pressure will overcome strength alone.

Lyubo will be teaching single and double leg take downs – leg defense, ‘two on one’ and the front headlock system.

  1. The best wrestler I have ever seen in my life. Its so much fun to watch this man perform at high level. He has a special talent!!!

  2. I’ve trained in many different disciplines under numerous coaches but Lyubo outshines them all. Worth travelling far and wide to train with.
