Training Without the Gi in August

Enjoying training without the Gi at BJJ Lifestyle Team in Long Ditton, near Kingston. All of the Jiu Jitsu we learn, develop and practice can be done with or without the Gi – recently, we have been looking at side control.

Our exclusive interest is Gracie Jiu Jitsu self defence. We focus on clinching and takedowns every training session, spend a lot of time analysing and learning ground control techniques and also strongly emphasise defence and escape.

Common Gracie Jiu Jitsu self defence techniques we practice include over the arms bear hug defence, under the arms bear hug defence, head protection when clinching and trips.
